ANZFSS Xmas Meeting Hobart 30 November 2016: Murder, Maggots and Mayhem

Posted by Barbara Etter APM on 30 November 2016 | 0 Comments

I now know way too much about body decomposition, flies and maggots. Last night I attended the final Tasmanian Australian and New Zealand Forensic Science Society (ANZFSS) meeting for the year at the Menzies Institute in the Hobart CBD. The guest speaker was forensic entomologist, Professor Ian Dadour, now of Boston University. I have known Ian for many years, through his previous role at the University of WA.

While I was on holidays recently, I was able to finally read Chester Porter QC's legal memoirs entitled Chester Porter: Walking on  Water: A Life in the Law (Random House Australia 2003). I am very fortunate to have an autographed copy, as Chester kindly signed my set of his books (including his books on miscarriages of justice and advocacy) when I lasted visited him and his wife, Jean, at his home in Sydney.
